Joseph Daniel Richards, age 35, of Victorville, California, passed away on July 18, 2023. He was born July 1, 1988 in Montebello, California.
Joe grew up in Commerce, California, where he had an active youth playing basketball, football, and baseball. He was a park kid who enjoyed being out and about and made many long lasting friendships. He attended Rosewood Elementary, Macy Intermediate School, and graduated from Bell Gardens High School in 2006.
In 2007, Joe met Jackie at the liquor store and they fell in love. They had two children, Ruben and Darius, before Joe left to the Army in July of 2009. He married Jackie on October 12, 2009.
Joe served one term in the US Army and served one tour in Afghanistan in a combat zone. While in the Army, he was stationed at Fort Wainwright in Alaska to work on Stryker vehicle maintenance and repair, but he also had the opportunity to deploy as an explosive detection dog handler.
In 2014, Joe and his family moved back to California and had their third child, Jacianna. In 2016, they moved to Victorville, California, where they had another daughter, Julianna, in 2018. While in Victorville, Joe was an active participant in the community, coaching his children and their teams and being a role model to all of the kids in the neighborhood. He had another son, Josh, in 2020.
Joe was a kind and loving husband, father, and friend. He will be deeply missed by all who knew him.
